Blog 7 – Events and Planning for a library

Question

  • Reflect on the events and programming at St. Luke’s, the Oshawa Community Museum and Archives, as well as the various activities discussed in class today. Choose ONE activity or event that you did not explore in class and either:
  • Option 1: Create a bibliography with three or more resources that provide more information about delivering the event or activity at a library.  Read the articles.  Write a ONE sentence summary of the article underneath the citation for each article.

Reflection – The Oshawa public community museum puts on many events and exhibits during the year such as tours through the houses and historical artifacts and the walking tour of the Harbor Pioneer Bonnie Brae point to learn about the gravestones and history of the decease family. Sometimes, the museum will do a ghost walk or tour of the city, to show and talk about the history of the Oshawa’s buildings, The mourning period after in the Victorian era, Tea and Talk, March break Madness and much more.

The article explains how can  public libraries approach the marketing aspect and the questions to organizing events and programs to make sure it’s appropriate for the general public and appropriate for themselves.

The Riverside library host a fundraiser with the Museum for a fun trivia night to raise enough money for a new 3D printer to bring new emerging technology to the library.
